Northern Coffee is involved in social justice initiatives in the war-torn Democratic Republic of Congo. We encourage former child soldiers to become coffee growers instead of fighting in rebel groups and militia. This region is known to have one of the best coffees in the world.
The eastern Congo has been unstable now since the Rwandan genocide in 1994, and many children get kidnapped from their families to join rebel groups; so, we try to demobilize these children so that they can become financially independent by growing coffee. Once they harvest, we try hard to help them sell their coffee. Coffee Beans are shipped from Africa to Canada.
By buying our coffee, you are also supporting these vulnerable children in Africa.
